Watching the kids play

We're getting to the point now where A+ can spend much of the afternoon running around with her friends. She moves from group to group and activity to activity easily.' Sometimes she comes to me for a snuggle or a cubing break, and then she's off again When it's warm enough that I don't need to wear gloves, I like to cube. It's something I can do with my hands while looking around, and sometimes the kids borrow a cube. I can knit while listening, or I can write or draw when I'm by myself. Sometimes I read a book. Can I learn a little of how anthropologists can I be more deliberate about experimenting with adding resources? What can I set out to learn from other grown-ups and Kids? What can I learn from simply sitting there quietly and drinking it in?
